We joined the 2025 South Africa International Power and Energy Exhibition from May 20–22. It was a great chance to get a closer look at the African market and have real face-to-face conversations with customers.

The exhibition in South Africa was led by our Foreign Trade Department. With a dedicated team of three, we managed everything on site, from setting up the 9 sqm booth to dismantling it after the show. We displayed over 20 products, including transformers  and bushings. Everything went smoothly, with no safety issues or product damage, and all work was completed as planned.

During the exhibition, we met around 126 professional visitors from South Africa, Zambia, and nearby countries, and held 48 in-depth technical and commercial discussions covering product standards and real application scenarios.

By the end of the event, we had 12 potential deals in progress, with an estimated value of about RMB 8.6 million. We also identified 6 potential regional distributors and collected 92 qualified contacts for follow-up, supporting our continued development in the Southern African market.

One thing we noticed is that many customers showed strong interest in our product quality and reliability, especially for power grid applications. The trip also helped us get a better understanding of the local market-what customers care about, how they make purchasing decisions, and what products are more competitive.

Of course, we know there's still room to improve. Our brand isn't well known locally yet, technical discussions can take time, and logistics-especially delivery time-is something we still need to work on.

We will keep working on these points while continuing to explore the African market. We hope to build more stable partnerships locally and provide products that better fit real project needs.
