Aluminum flange bushings are key components used in electrical equipment to provide electrical insulation and mechanical support when conductors pass through metal enclosures or walls. They are widely used in power system equipment such as transformers, switchgear, and distribution units. Their working principle is primarily based on the synergistic design of insulating materials and conductive structures to ensure safe isolation between the high-voltage conductor and the grounding casing.
Core Working Principle Points:
Insulation Function Achieved: The bushing achieves electrical isolation between the high-voltage conductor and the grounding flange through a high-strength ceramic outer insulating sleeve (usually coated with brown enamel). The ceramic sleeve has excellent dielectric strength and weather resistance, effectively preventing arc breakdown and surface flashover, and exhibits stability, especially in outdoor or humid environments.
Conductive Path Construction: The conductive part typically uses aluminum or copper conductor rods or busbars, passing through the center of the ceramic sleeve, with both ends connecting to the internal and external circuits of the equipment. Aluminum conductors are widely used in high-current scenarios due to their low cost, light weight, and good conductivity.
Electric Field Homogenization Technology: For voltage levels of 20kV and above, to avoid flashover caused by localized electric field concentration, some products utilize semiconductor glaze technology instead of traditional aluminum spraying, resulting in a more uniform electric field distribution and significantly improved insulation reliability.
Mechanical Fixing and Sealing: Flanges serve as mounting bases, firmly securing the sleeve to the equipment casing or wall. Sealing structures such as rubber gaskets prevent moisture and dust intrusion, ensuring the stability of the internal insulation environment.
Heat Dissipation and Material Matching: Aluminum flanges not only reduce overall weight but also possess excellent heat dissipation performance. Combined with centering washers to fix the conductive rod, this reduces thermal stress deformation during operation, improving long-term operational reliability.
